Be Aware of New Orkut Scam - Free Recharge to All Orkut Users

Be Aware of any kind of Free Mobile Recharge on Orkut for Orkut Users. A new type of scam or you can say spam message is spreading in India that is Orkut is giving Free Recharge to all the users on this HOLI. For this, you just have to login with your orkut id and then you will get a recharge.

Full Scam Message is shown in the following screenshot which, one of my friend received on his rediff email id. This email was send from a Orkut user.

Actually Never Login to any suspicious URL which ask for your account id and password for any website like orkut, facebook, twitter, Gmail or even bank sites. Just keep in mind that no website will ask you for your username and password. If you are getting any similar email then be sure that someone want to get your access details and then your account will be hacked.

Here is the complete idea behind it. Once you have logged-in to any suspicious website, suppose e.g. you are going to login to the above link to get free recharge from orkut, then your orkut id and password will be sent to those users who had created this link and simultaneously you may also get login to your orkut account. This way you feel that you have got login to orkut account and now you will receive your recharge. But nothing will happen as you thought. Because you have given your login details to those bad users and now they can missue your account.

So, Keep in mind that if you get any similar emails in future, don’t forget to report it as a spam so that you will never receive it for the second time. Also, if you are receiving any message in any of your social networking sites then remove such persons from your friends list and also can report him as a spam user.

What to do now if I followed the above step to get recharge from Orkut

If you have got this email earlier and have followed their steps, it means now your userid and password is with them. So, Just wish that they have not done any thing wrong with your account. Now, you must login to your orkut account and change your password. Also try to change the password of all email accounts you have, if you are using the same password. If you are using Gmail for your orkut, then you have to change the password of your Google account for changing the password in Orkut.
